Sonic Heroes. This almost made me never try another 3D Sonic game again because I HATED it. Then the next ones were just universally hated by everyone and they were pretty much THIS ONE IS SONIC WITH A SWORD IN MEDIVAL TIMES AND THIS ONE IS SONIC AS A WEREWOLF!
It was like “are you serious? Are these actually being made?” Turns out Sonic Unleashed isn’t that bad, but man. If Generations hadn’t happened, I probably would not have ever played another 3D Sonic game - but in order to progress in that game, you have to play the 2D and the 3D Acts. This made me play the 3D ones and man, they had tightened that shit right up from where I had remembered it.
Now playing Sonic Colors, I want Sonic to ALWAYS be exactly like Colors except with the air dash rather than double jump. Sonic Generation’s more tuned controls definitely win over Sonic Colors, but man the stages and powers in Colors. There hasn’t been that kind of creativity present since Sonic 3&K.
